Angels With Battle Scars #4 - Acrylic on Canvas Paper
Another speedpaint portrait inspired by photos of Covid-19 nurses but also informed by the vitally important Black Lives Matter movement. This was done in about 3-4 hours on a sunny afternoon recently. And, as I painted my subject, the deeper meaning behind her story began to influence the piece. Not only is she intended to represent a symbol of suffering and resilience in the face of her daily duties as a Covid-19 nurse, she's also a symbol of defiance and strength in the face of racism and inequality.
