Hope Flame

I initially created this piece as a response to the Covid-19 global pandemic, intended to symbolise hope for the future and represent the resilience of the human spirit. However, as the deeply troubling events in America began to unfold with footage of neo-Nazi mobs storming the Capitol spurred on by the outgoing President, this painting became about much more than that. In short, it's a homage to everyone's struggle against Coronavirus, racism and oppression...and a testament to the eternal flame of hope and strength in the face of adversity.
